Why Women Should Absolutely Use Lube During Sex
Do you want to feel sexually empowered in the bedroom? I know we do!
There are tons of reasons to love the use of lubricant and allow a more comfortable sexy time when the heat is on. But sadly it’s commonly devalued by some misconceptions around the need for it. We’ve even heard of men jokingly proclaim that: “if you’re a real man you don’t need to use lubricant…” (death stare)
Hold up soldier! Let’s be clear that having lubes by your beside table is perfectly OKAY and it is by no means a meet to an end. It doesn't mean that someone is lacking any skills or ability in the love-making department either.
Here are 4 misconceptions we’d like to clarify on the use of sex lubes and why every women should absolutely use lube during sex:
1. “My body is naturally lubed up anyway”
Yes, The body can and should naturally produce it’s own lubrication however it would normally require some type of foreplay or stimulation, not just physically but mentally to get your juices flowing down south. In some cases, we understand that married couples maybe on a tight schedule but are still making efforts to get it on while their kids are away for tuition or soccer practice (good on you!). But with not a lot of time on their hands engaging in foreplay or getting into the mood maybe a tricky and nervous situation especially for the vagina. ‘She’ needs coaxing too and ramming the “keys into the ignition” may not be the most ideal and sexiest of times to rekindle and bond. In such cases, having a gentle lube around is always handy to ease the pressure for a more pleasurable time for sex.
2. “I’m always wet, I don’t need any help!”
Some women can get naturally very wet and lubricated on their own - which is great news, however when penetration happens and naturally two surfaces rub up against each other friction occurs and dries up the natural moisture of the vagina easily. After a while sex could become unpleasant and reaching orgasm would become more challenging (for her), so a little lube can actually go a long way.
3. “I’ll just use my spit”
Honey, there is no amount of saliva that is going to cure vagina dryness because saliva is mostly made out of water and not to mention the amount of bacteria involved! As ‘natural’ as it may seem, it’s probably not the best solution to lubricate yourself. Also there is no special sex position you can do to get her / yourself wet again.
4. We’ve had sex without lube before, she didn’t seem to complain”
With all the sweating involved, without replenishing the body with water during intercourse. Especially if she has already orgasm once her body is definitely going to be dehydrated. So why not help her achieve second orgasm or maybe more without the downtime with some lube readily on hand.
There is not one woman on this earth that hasn’t experience drying out in the bedroom and it doesn’t necessarily attribute to the lack of sexual arousal or is a cause for immediate medical attention (although in some cases may attribute to certain medications and hormonal issues). So time to lube up ladies and take your orgasms to the next level!
